Things to Do

For those who have never found Cockliffe House nor sought it out, you may be surprised to discover that it has sat secluded from the hustle and bustle of both Nottingham and Mansfield for over 300 years. It is hard to imagine a rustic idyll nestling peacefully, yet conveniently, between the A60 and A614 but seemingly miles from anywhere.

Fresh out of the city, Owners Dane and Jane Clarke became enchanted by this “secret hideaway” fifteen years ago and have successfully combined their flair for innovative style and cuisine with a beautiful, pastoral backdrop.

Cockliffe has 11 bedrooms, each with its own personality nurtured by Jane’s use of fabric, antiques and colour, which is why it is often described as boutique. It is undeniably unique with its resolute approach to the customer as individual, a quality rarely found in most hotels.

This is complimented by an alluring ambience and gastronomy nurtured by a talented team – with skills gained in Michelin Starred kitchens and mutual passion and dedication – makes for a lasting impression.
